Four Errors and York Bats Spell Skeeters
April 29, 2016 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
YORK, PA- The Skeeters fell 9-1 to the York Revolution on Friday night at PeoplesBank Park in York, PA.
The Revolution put an early run on the board in the bottom of the second inning when Joel Guzman led off the inning with a single and scored on a two-out double by Keith Castillo. The lead was short-lived when Skeeters' outfielder Kent Matthes tied the game with a home run - his second of the season.
That's when it went south for the Skeeters. Guzman doubled to right and scored on a single by Pounds who would then score after singles by Keith Castillo and Michael Rockett in the fourth. The fifth inning saw 11 Revolution batters come to the plate as they scored six unearned runs on seven hits and two Skeeters errors, one by Ian Marshall and one by Josh Prince.
The game went quiet after that, with neither team tacking on any more runs and the Skeeters failing to get a hit beyond the third inning. Josh Prince becomes the first Skeeter ejected on the young season for arguing balls and strikes.
The Skeeters continue the four-game set against York tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Season tickets and special game plans are still available for the 2016 campaign. Purchase your tickets by calling the Skeeters box office at 281-240-4487 or visit sugarlandskeeters.com.
