
Four Cougars Impress this Weekend in the AHL

Prince George, B.C. - Four members of the 2016-17 Prince George Cougars have made the jump to the American Hockey League. Forwards Jansen Harkins (Manitoba Moose - Winnipeg affiliate), Colby McAuley (San Jose Barracuda - San Jose affiliate), Radovan Bondra (Rockford IceHogs - Chicago affiliate) and defenceman Brendan Guhle (Rochester Americans - Buffalo affiliate) have all suited up this weekend and will remain with their respective teams until their season is over.
Fresh off signing an entry-level deal with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday, Jansen Harkins recorded an assist in a 5-4 victory for the Manitoba Moose Friday night at home against the Tuscon Roadrunners. In seven career games with the Moose, Harkins has recorded a goal and three assists. He is wearing number 32 for the Moose who are back in action this afternoon at NOON local time.
Colby McAuley signed an Amateur Tryout contract with the San Jose Barracuda yesterday and wasted no time making an impact. He made his professional debut last night at home against the Stockton Heat and recorded an assist. Despite losing the game 5-2 he finished the game with an even plus-minus rating. He is wearing number 98 for the Barracuda who are back in action against Stockton this afternoon at 3 PM local time.
Radovan Bondra signed an Amateur Tryout contract with the Rockford IceHogs yesterday and made his pro debut for Rockford in a 4-2 loss in Milwaukee. Bondra finished with an even-plus minus rating and had a shot on goal. The Chicago Blackhawks draftee (Round 5, 2015) wore number 12 for the IceHogs who are in action this afternoon at 2:00 PM local time in Chicago.
Fresh off his MVP season with the Prince George Cougars, defenceman Brendan Guhle has rejoined the Rochester Americans. On Friday night he scored a goal for his team in a 3-2 home loss to the Hershey Bears. Yesterday though, Guhle and his teammates stormed back with a 5-0 victory at home against the Utica Comets. Guhle had two penalty minutes and a shot on goal. In eight career AHL games, Guhle now has two goals and three assists. Guhle is wearing number 45 for the Americans who are in Toronto this afternoon to face the Marlies at 2 PM local time.
