Forward Luka Shcherbyna to Join Chiefs on Road Trip

Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced on Tuesday that forward prospect Luka Shcherbyna will join the club as an affiliated player.

Shcherbyna, a 5-foot-10 forward from Vancouver, B.C., was the Chiefs' second-round (41st overall) pick in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. He leads the St. George's School U17 Prep (CSSHL) team with 45 points (27G-18A) in 30 games, being held off the scoresheet just five times.

Should he appear in a game, he'll become the fourth prospect from Spokane's 2021 class to make their WHL debut this season, joining F Berkly Catton (1st round; 1st overall), D Will McIsaac (2nd; 28th) and D Nathan Mayes (3rd; 51st).

Spokane takes on the B.C. Division-leading Kamloops Blazers on the road on Wednesday, with puck drop at 7 p.m. PT. They'll continue their trip on Friday and Saturday at the Prince George Cougars.

Shcherbyna will wear jersey no. 18.
