Norfolk Admirals News Release
NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals have recalled forward Brent Henley from their ECHL affiliate, the Augusta Lynx, Admirals General Manager Mike Butters announced today.
Henley, 28, is a 6-foot-6, 258-pound defenseman-turned-forward from Coquitlam, British Columbia. Henley appeared in two games for the Lynx after being assigned on November 12 and was scoreless with two penalty minutes.
In four games with the Admirals earlier this season, Henley was scoreless with 51 penalty minutes. Henley has appeared in 50 career AHL contests between the Admirals, Lowell Lock Monsters, Rochester Americans, Toronto Marlies, Edmonton RoadRunners, and Springfield Falcons. He has scored one goal and added four assists with 196 penalty minutes in those contests.
Last season, Henley played with the Fort Wayne Komets of the IHL and Springfield Falcons of the AHL. With the Komets, Henley posted four assists and 108 penalty minutes in 26 regular season games. He signed an AHL professional tryout contract with the Falcons at the end of the season and appeared in Springfield's final three games. He then returned to the Komets for the playoffs, notching two assists and 23 penalty minutes in 13 games as Fort Wayne captured the 2008 Turner Cup Championship.
In his eight-year professional career spanning 338 games between the AHL, ECHL, WCHL, UHL and IHL, Henley has scored ten goals and added 39 assists with 1,632 penalty minutes.
