Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, Idaho (January 24, 2007) - Cory Santee scored a game-high 29 points off the bench to help the Fort Worth Flyers defeat the Idaho Stampede 119-97. Santee shot 10-for-15 from the field, including 6 of 10 from behind the arc for the game.

The loss snaps an 11-game win streak for the Stampede, which began with a win in Fort Worth on December 29.

The Flyers utilized a 40-point fourth quarter, led by Santee's 11 points, to extend a nine-point lead at the end of the third quarter for the final margin of victory. Fort Worth shot 8-for-13 from behind the arc in the final period and nearly 42% from three for the game.

Including Santee, the Flyers had six players with double-figure scoring. Pops Mensah-Bonsu had 25 points and nine rebounds, while Jose Barea added 17 points and 10 assists.

Idaho was led by Jeff Graves, who tallied his ninth double-double of the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Peter Ramos contributed 18 points and nine rebounds, Randy Livingston pitched in with 13 points and 14 assists, while Ronell Taylor and C.J. Miles had 14 and 13 points each.

The ball seamed to bounce in the favor of the Flyers the entire contest, as the Flyers maximized a 16-point advantage in second chance points. Missed lay-ups and a 4-for-13 shooting night from behind the arc cost the Stampede throughout.

Idaho pounded the ball down low in the first quarter, shooting nearly 54% and were led by Ramos' 12 points, but the Stampede could not keep up with the Flyers shooting down the stretch. Idaho struggled from the field in the second half, shooting only 37% in the third and fourth quarters.

The Stampede and Flyers face each other again at Qwest Arena in Boise tomorrow night.
