JAM STAFF GETS THE CALL: Two members of the Bakersfield Jam front office staff, Tyler Hair and Danita Johnson, have both landed positions with NBA teams, increasing the number of front office executives to earn a new position under the NBA umbrella to 33 since the league began in 2001-02. Hair is joining the Clippers as an inside sales rep and Johnson joins the Suns in group sales.

COACHING CHANGE: The Anaheim Arsenal dismissed head coach Larry Smith on Tuesday and named assistant coach Reggie Geary as the interim head coach for the remainder of this season. An assistant will be named over the next few days. Smith was 10-15 in his first D-League head coaching stint.

HE'S BACK: After completing a 10-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, forward Luke Jackson has returned to the Idaho Stampede. The 10th overall selection in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jackson played in six games with the Stampede earlier this season before signing with the Clippers on Jan. 8. In his first six games with Idaho he averaged 12.5 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 30.3 minutes per game.

THEY SAID IT: "When they sent me down there, I really didn't want to go. I was like 'I don't want to be here'. But after being there, I liked it. I got a chance to get some games under my belt. That helped me just by the mere fact I was getting minutes. It helped me get my rhythm and confidence. You always learn more by playing." ... Celtics second-year player Gerald Green told USA Today about his assignment to the D-League last season.

THEY ALSO SAID IT: "There's a lot of opportunities that I left on the table by not going [directly] to the D-League. It's not always about the money. You just got to trust yourself. It's fair to say that I didn't trust myself back then." ... Current Sonics and former Sioux Falls forward Andre Brown told the Seattle Times about playing in the D-League vs. overseas.
