RENO, NEVADA, January 9, 2012 - It was perhaps his finest stretch as a pro. Solomon Alabi, on assignment from the Toronto Raptors, scored eight quick points, mostly on dunks, as the Bakersfield Jam built an early 17-2 lead over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Then came the foul trouble.

After finishing the first quarter with eight points, four rebounds, two blocks and only one personal foul, Alabi was tagged with three second quarter fouls. He then picked up another foul at the start of the third quarter, and was forced to sit for most of the second half.

Fort Wayne (7-11) took advantage throughout, trimming Bakersfield's lead to only two at the half, and eventually used a 13-0 run late in the fourth quarter to take a 96-90 lead, en route to a 100-96 win in the third game of the 2012 NBA D-League Showcase.

Jarrid Famous, recently acquired in a trade with Iowa, led the Mad Ants with 20 points on 9-for-19 shooting, and added nine rebounds. Famous was in training camp with the Indiana Pacers and ranks fourth in the NBA D-League in rebounding (10.1 rpg). Walker Russell added 19 points and an NBA D-League season-high 19 assists. He leads the NBA D-League in assists (9.1 apg).

Renaldo Major led Bakersfield (9-8) with 14 points, but shot just 2-for-10 from the field. Jeremy Wise added 13 points and a team-high eight assists. Adam Koch finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, but missed a driving layup that would have tied the game with five seconds left in regulation.

Bakersfield returns to action Wednesday against Idaho at 12:45 p.m. PT for their second and last game at the 2012 NBA D-League Showcase. The game will be televised live on NBA TV.
