Forney To Re-Join Gladiators

The Atlanta Thrashers have re-assigned left wing MICHAEL FORNEY from the Chicago Wolves to the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

FORNEY made his American Hockey League debut in two games last week, after joining in the Wolves on Feb. 19. He also has collected seven goals, nine assists and 16 points in 47 outings with Gwinnett during his professional debut this season.

The 21-year-old forward was selected by the Atlanta Thrashers with their third choice, 80th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and spent last season with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL), where he paced that squad with 60 points (26G, 34A) in 59 outings.

The Thief River Falls, Minn., native also spent two seasons (2006-08) at the University of North Dakota (WCHA), where he tallied two assists and 12 penalty minutes in 19 games.

FORNEY will re-join the Gladiators for their game in Kalamazoo, Mich., at 9:30 a.m. CST tomorrow. The Wolves are idle till Friday, when they visit Carver Arena for a matchup with the Peoria Rivermen at 7 p.m.
