Kalamazoo Wings News Release
KALAMAZOO, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud ECHL affiliates of the Tampa Bay Lightning, have signed forward Josh Pitt to a tryout agreement, the team announced Friday.
Pitt, 24, is no stranger to the Kalamazoo community, as the 6-foot-3 centerman spent the past four seasons at Western Michigan University. During his career with the Broncos, the native of Brockville, Ontario appeared in 115 games, notching 13 goals and 23 assists.
"He (Pitt) brings another big body up front for us," head coach Nick Bootland said. "He's very well rounded and plays a 200-foot game."
Before his university career, Pitt spent four years with the Kemptville 73s and the Ottawa Jr. Senators in the Central Canada Hockey League, where he dressed in 196 games and tallied 119 points.
The Wings take the ice at Wings Event Center for two preseason games this weekend, as they host Toledo on Saturday, October 8 and Brampton on Sunday, October 9. Both games feature $5 tickets and FREE PARKING!
The Kalamazoo Wings host their 43rd annual home opener on Friday, October 21, as they entertain the Fort Wayne Komets. The game features a Fan Fest--a free event with your purchased ticket--which begins at 5:30 p.m. and features local food trucks, craft beer, games, and live music.
