INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced a series of roster moves Friday ahead of their 2016 preseason debut against the Fort Wayne Komets. Six players - forwards Cody Sharib, Anthony Beauregard, Marek Tvrdon, Matt Rupert, Tyler Currier and defenseman Matt Stainsz - have been released from their Rockford tryouts and will report to the Fuel. Additionally, Rockford has assigned goaltender Eric Levine to Indy, and the Fuel have added defenseman Drew Schiestel on a tryout basis.

Indy's active roster now stands at 28 players, including 17 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. The Fuel meet the Komets for a pair of exhibition contests this weekend, starting tonight at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum before Saturday's rematch at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Levine, 27, posted a 10-7-0-0 record in 19 games for the ECHL's Colorado Eagles in 2015-16, posting a 2.30 goals against average and a .915 save percentage. Levine appeared in three games for the Fuel during the 2014-15 season while on loan from the Southern Professional Hockey League's (SPHL) Peoria Rivermen, taking one loss during the stint. Over the previous two seasons, the 6-foot-3, 181-pound netminder has played in 29 ECHL games with Colorado, the Utah Grizzlies, Fort Wayne and Indy, showing a 14-9-0-1 record, a 2.67 goals against average and a .909 save percentage. The native of Wheeling, Ill. signed a one-year AHL contract with Rockford on August 4.

Schiestel, 27, has spent the last two seasons overseas, most recently tallying 18 points (3g, 15a) in 40 games for Rungsted Seier Capital in Denmark. The eighth-year pro has logged 240 career AHL games with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Rochester Americans, Texas Stars and Portland Pirates, scoring 63 total points (11g, 52a) from the blue line. The Hamilton, Ontario native was a second round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres (No. 59 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
