Former UCF Knight & First Coast Buc Seyvon Lowry Signs with Sharks

JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 National Arena League champion Jacksonville Sharks announced today the signing of Defensive Lineman Seyvon Lowry for the 2021 season. This will be his second year of arena football and first with the Sharks. Lowry signed with coach Fuller for the 2020 season and has decided to re-sign with the Sharks for 2021.

Seyvon Lowry (6'3, 275) spent his first season of arena football with the Nebraska Danger of the Indoor Football League (IFL). As a rookie Lowry played in six games for Nebraska and racked up 31 tackles, two fumble recoveries, and 4.5 sacks during the 2019 season. Lowry played his college career at the University of Central Florida from 2013 - 2016 alongside former Jaguars Quarterback Blake Bortles and Seahawks defensive backs Shaquem & Shaquill Griffin. Lowery played on the defensive line for the knights and was a member of a defense that contributed to the start of the most successful era in UCF football history. During his freshman year, the Knights went 12-1, winning the American Conference Championship, and defeated the #6 Baylor Bears in the Fiesta Bowl. During his sophomore year, UCF went undefeated at home becoming the first team in UCF football history to have a perfect home record 6-0. Lowry collected 46 tackles, three interceptions, and 1.5 sacks over his career at Central Florida.

Lowry is a native of Jacksonville, FL, where he attended First Coast High School. As a Buccaneer he was a defensive end who racked up 98 tackles, 33 sacks, five forced fumbles, two blocked punts, and five touchdowns during his career at First Coast. Prior to graduating he was a four-star recruit by ESPN, won Second Team All-State Honors, and First Team All-Conference Honors. During his last two seasons at First Coast, Lowry and the Bucs had a 24-3 record including a 13-1 junior season where the Bucs won their district championship, region championship, and appeared in the Florida High School 7A State Championship Game against Manatee High School in 2011. Prior to committing to UCF, Lowry had NCAA interest from Alabama, Florida, Michigan State, Miami, Louisville, and Cincinnati.
