Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
Former Shreveport Sports lefthander T.J. Hendricks made his first start for Coastal Bend Sunday and beat his old teammates 7-2 at Fair Grounds Field as the Aviators took two of three from the Sports.
Hendricks pitched seven innings, scattered eight hits and allowed just two runs in picking up his third win of the season.
Coastal Bend had taken a 2-0 lead in the sixth when Shreveport first baseman Tommy Bryant doubled with two outs to tie the game at 2-2. However, the Aviators scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning off losing hurler Bert Snow and went on to win their fifth game of the second half.
The Sports fell to 2-4 in the second half. Shreveport will open up a three-game series with El Paso Monday at Fair Grounds Field. Game time will be 7:05 with the broadcast on AM 1130, KWKH.
