A solid pitching performance by Lincoln starter Kyle Ruwe leads the Saltdogs to a big win over the St. Paul Saints. Ruwe went seven strong innings giving only one earned run on five hits with a walk and three strikeouts. He improved his record to 6-2 on the year. 1B Brett Cooley led the Saltdogs offensively going 3-for-4 with a fourth-inning solo home run. Pichi Balet, in a 1-for-5 effort, doubled home the go ahead run in the fifth inning for Lincoln. In the losing cause for St. Paul, C Marcel Longmire went 1-for-3 and plated their only run.

Coastal Bend 7, Shreveport 2

Coastal Bend continues their hot start to the second half as they get a five-run victory over Shreveport and take 2-of-3 in the series. 1B Grant Richardson went for 3-for-4 for the Aviators with two runs scored and three RBI. Richardson also drilled his sixth homer of the year. 3B JD Foust and 2B Will Lewis each chipped in with two hits of their own for Coastal Bend. Aviators starting pitcher TJ Hendricks picked up his first win with Coastal Bend and improved his overall record to 3-5. RF Chad Gambill and C Justin Humphries went a combined 4-for-8 and scored both runs for Shreveport.

Fort Worth 7, El Paso 6

Fort Worth was down to its last out, trailing El Paso 6-5 in the bottom of the ninth when RF Carlos Adolfo strode to the plate. Adolfo ripped a two-run, walkoff single to give Fort Worth a 7-6 win in a tightly contested game. Fort Worth 3B Terence Green reached on a bloop single with one out in the ninth, then LF Jordan Foster walked. SS Mark Mirizzi's groundout moved both runners up a base, and Adolfo followed with his decisive single. A 5-5 tie since the sixth inning, El Paso crept ahead with a run in the top of the ninth on a C Casey Clary triple. Then Fort Worth summoned its ninth inning magic, the second time in the three-game series that Fort Worth won the game in its final at-bat. El Paso 1B Walter Olmstead touched Fort Worth for four hits, two runs and an RBI. Fort Worth was led by Adolfo's two RBI and three hits from 1B Chuck Carter.

Sioux Falls 8, Pensacola 4

Sioux Falls pitcher Pat Mahomes wasn't at his best but still picked up his eighth win thanks to eight runs from his offense in an 8-4 victory against Pensacola. Mahomes went seven innings and allowed four runs on nine hits. He fanned ten Pelicans. Leading the way on offense was RF Juan Figueroa, who had a stellar 4-for-4 night with two runs, two RBI and a home run. Three out of the Canaries first four hitters went deep on the night as 2B Cameron Coughlan and LF Ben Van Iderstine joined Figueroa on the action. Van Iderstine went 3-for-5 on the night with two RBI of his own and a double to go along with his longball. Sioux Falls got two scoreless innings out of relievers Aaron Garrison and Kelly Casares to preserve the win.

Sioux City 4, St. Joe 3

Sioux City CF Jason Tuttle led off the game with a home run and the Explorers continued what he started, edging St. Joe 4-3. Tuttle finished 2-for-5 and scored twice on the night. Sioux City led 4-2 in the seventh inning, but St. Joe plated a run in the bottom of the seventh to close the gap. From then on, the Sioux City bullpen shut down the Blacksnakes, allowing only a hit and no runs in the last two innings. Sioux City 1B Jake Daubert helped Tuttle on the offensive, finishing with two hits and three RBI, including a two-run double in the fifth inning.
