Everett Hawks News Release
Sam Adams, the Buffalo Bill defensive tackle and former Seahawk and Pro Bowler, along with business partner, Merle Gregg will be opening The Epicenter on December 21. The Epicenter is a major new fitness center in the heart of downtown. As part of the renovation of the Kress Building at the corner of Third and Pike, The Epicenter will occupy part of the first floor and the entire second floor â more than 25,000 square feet.
The Epicenter is "shaking up the world of fitness" by marketing its distinctive "Fast Fitness" concept to the downtown business workforce. Starting with speedy, electronic check-ins and then swiftly moving on to exercise workouts built around 30-minute formats, an individual can leave work, get in a good workout, and return to work â all within an hour lunch break. The Epicenter has several 30-minute programs including aerobics, spinning, personal training, heated yoga classes, and a special 25-minute circuit training room designed by Nautilus. Over 100 pieces of cardio and resistance equipment as well as free weights will be available. Steam rooms and dry saunas are in each of the locker rooms. "Digi-lock" lockers that do away with the need for padlocks save time and frustration.
Adams and Gregg work to create an experience where people do not encounter any of the things they have found objectionable about fitness clubs. The Epicenter is offering $25.00-a-month membership dues with no contracts or application processing fees. With the club open seven days, memberships are all inclusive with no restrictions on access to any facilities or equipment.
Adams' and Gregg's Epicenter Fitness Center is part of an alliance of businesses being assembled by B & W Investment Co., the Kress Building owner, in a bid to reclaim one corner of Third and Pike â Third and Pike being the traditional heart of downtown Seattle.
Sam Adams is opening The Epicenter with a long-term plan; after completing his NFL career, he will be active in the day-to-day operations of the fitness center. Sam is a leader in the Seattle community, founding and supporting the Earthquake Foundation, a charitable organization providing programs and support for disadvantaged youth, motivating students to reach their full potential.
