Hawgs sign renowned dance team coordinator and announce tryouts

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Daytona Beach Hawgs are proud to announce that New Smyrna Beach's Kelly Conway will serve as the Dance Team Coordinator for the National Indoor Football League expansion team.
For the past 20 years, Conway has directed the national champion Showdolls at New Smyrna Beach High School. The Showdolls have won nine national dance championships, appeared in several Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades, Cotton Bowl parades as well as performing at the Daytona 500 pre-race events, Miami Dolphin halftimes and much, much more.
"I'm very excited about this opportunity,'' Conway said. "This provides an opportunity for girls in the local area to move on the next level of dance. The dance teams in this area are highly competitive and talented."
In addition to performing at the Hawgs seven regular season games and playoffs, the still-unnamed dance team will also compete against other NIFL squads at the end of the season.
"Coach [Ervin] Bryson wants to win and so do I,'' Conway said.
"Kelly is an incredible professional,'' Bryson said. "Her skills will add to the complete entertainment package that will be Daytona Beach Hawgs football."
Tryouts for the dance team will be held on Saturday, December 18 at 9 a.m. at the Daytona Beach Lesiure Services department, 110 W. Orange Ave., Daytona Beach. The tryout fee is $30. For more information, call the Hawgs' office at (386) 257-9890 or e-mail kelly@daytonabeachhawgs.com.
