DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Daytona Beach Hawgs coach Ervin Bryson announced today the signing of 2004 National Indoor Football League Pacific Conference All-Star wide receiver Lucas Green.

Green caught a team-high 64 passes for 971 yards and 22 touchdowns for the Sioux City (Iowa) Bandits last season, finishing fourth in the league in receiving yards per game. He also played briefly for the Winston-Salem Energy in 2002.

Both Green and Robert Bailey, one of the Hawgs' original signees, have played for Bryson both in Sioux City and Winston-Salem.

"Green is one of the most exciting players in the league,'' Bryson said. "He and Robert know my system, which will be a huge advantage."

Green, 6-3, 205, played college football at Wingate University, where he was the school's all-time leading receiver. He was named to the 2002 South Atlantic Conference first-team and also won Division II third-team All-America honors.

The Hawgs' preseason roster now stands at 34 players.

Daytona Beach begins its inaugural season in March 2005 at the Ocean Center. Season ticket information will be announced shortly.
