WORCESTER, MA - Justin Stockton, the Massachusetts Pirates All-Time leading rusher, has signed with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League. Stockton was a key player for the Pirates as they captured the United Bowl and the Indoor Football League Championship last season.

Stockton, a 5'10", 200 lb. running back from Cibolo, TX, established regular season All-Time records for Massachusetts with 84 rushing attempts for 370 yards (347 net) 34.7 yards per game and a long rush of 29 yards.

The former Texas Tech product burst on to the scene in week one of the Pirates championship season as he ran for a team record 76 yards on 11 carries (including the 29 yard jaunt) and scored a touchdown in a season opening 49-18 win over the Louisville Xtreme. He also had two receptions for 12 yards and a score and was the first player in Massachusetts history to be named an IFL Offensive Player of the Week.

In the Pirates postseason run, Stockton appeared in all three games and was the team's leading rusher with 35 carries for 158 yards (135 net) and three touchdowns. The three rushing scores tied a club record that is shared with current Pirates quarterback Alejandro Bennifield. Stockton dominated the Frisco Fighters in the IFL semifinal round as he ran 14 times for 81 yards (75 net) and scored two touchdowns.

In all, Stockton played in 13 games and was a top ten performer in five IFL categories, finishing fourth with 119 carries and ranked fifth with 528 yards. He was seventh with 4.4 yards per carry, ninth 12 rushing touchdowns and his 40.6 yards per game were fourth best in the league.

This will be the fifth professional league for Stockton. He signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018 with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. That same season he joined the practice squad of the Detroit Lions and remained with that organization into 2019.

In 2019 Stockton played in all eight games for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football with 43 carries for 233 yards and a touchdown. In 2020 Stockton gained 41 yards on five carries and had one reception for 8 yards for the New York Guardians of the XFL.

In four years at Texas Tech Stockton played in 47 games. He totaled 294 rushing attempts for 1,714 yards, 14 touchdowns, averaged 5.8 yards per carry and 36.5 yards per contest. He also had 82 receptions for 872 yards and 10 touchdowns. Stockton also returned 19 kicks for 284 yards. His best season was as a senior in 2017 when he was 24th in the Nation with 6.04 yards per carry. That year he had 797 yards on 132 carries with four scores.
