MISSOULA, MONT - Former Missoula Osprey infielder Pedro Ciriaco made his Major League Baseball debut on Wednesday for the Pittsburgh Pirates, delivering a pinch-hit RBI double and scoring a run in a 9-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves.

Ciriaco, who was part of the trade that sent Chris Snyder from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Pirates, is the 31st former player to make the Major Leagues in Missoula Osprey history, and the fourth to make his Major League debut during the 2010 season.

Ciriaco hit .281 with six RBIs in 32 games with Triple-A Indianapolis before his September call-up. Before the trade, Ciriaco played at Triple-A Reno, and in 87 games, hit .259 with six home runs, 53 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.

With the Osprey in 2005, Ciriaco hit .240 in 69 games with two home runs, 31 RBIs and seven stolen bases. Ciriaco then put together back-to-back impressive seasons - in 2008, hitting .310 with five home runs, 61 RBIs and stealing 40 bases with Visalia and 2009, when he batted .296 with four home runs and 54 RBIs while swiping 38 bases in Mobile - before earning a 40-man roster spot this past December from the D-backs.

Ciriaco is the fourth former Osprey to make his Major League debut this season, joining Sergio Santos (2002), Daniel Stange (2006) and Hector Ambriz (2006).
