Former Lynx Jamey Carroll's #3 To Be Retired Tomorrow Night At Lynx Stadium

OTTAWA – Jamey Carroll, the hard-nosed infielder who captured the imagination of the Ottawa public with his never-give-up style of play, and his ever-pleasant demeanor, will have his number "3" retired in a pre-game ceremony before the Lynx 7:05 p.m. game tomorrow night against the Pawtucket Red Sox. Carroll, who currently plays for the Montreal Expos, spent parts of three years in Ottawa, and was well known for both his play on the field and his work in the community. This will be the second time in Lynx franchise history that a number will be retired, as Carroll's #3 will join F.P. Santangelo's #24 on the outfield wall at Lynx Stadium.

"We're really excited about tomorrow night," said Lynx GM Kyle Bostwick "Jamey was a great player for the Lynx and our organization is happy to be able to honour him for his contributions on the field and his tremendous work in the Ottawa community."

Carroll with be in attendance tomorrow evening with several members of his family, who will travel from his home town of Evansville, Indiana for the occasion.

After the pre-game ceremony, Carroll will be signing autographs for the first two innings of the game. During the 3rd and 4th innings he will be made available to the media. Those members of the media who are interested in speaking with Mr. Carroll are asked to contact the Lynx media department in advance.

This year's Lynx team will finish off their six-game road trip this evening in Syracuse, before coming back to Ottawa for six games, featuring two against Pawtucket and four against Syracuse. Currently the Lynx are in the race for a playoff spot, sitting 3.0 games behind the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons for the Wild Card Playoff spot. Tomorrow night's game also features $0.25 hot dog night at Lynx Stadium, so fans will be able to enjoy the pre-game ceremonies and then enjoy the traditional ballpark snack for a special price!
