
Former Knight Jim Thome Hits 600th Career Home Run

FORT MILL, S.C. - Former Charlotte Knight Jim Thome hit his 600th career home run tonight. Thome played for the Charlotte Knights in 1993 and 2007.
In 1993, Thome won the International League Most Valuable Player award while playing for the Knights. In his MVP season, he hit .332 (136-410) with 25 home runs and 102 RBI. Thome later played five games for Charlotte on a major league rehab assignment while with the Chicago White Sox in 2007.
Thome becomes just the eighth person in Major League Baseball history to hit 600 career home runs. Thome is a five time All-Star and has played in two World Series.
