Sioux City Bandits News Release

(October 25, 2006-Sioux City, IA) The Sioux City Bandits of the United Indoor Football League are pleased to announce that Defensive Lineman Damien Bauman has signed a two-year contract with the Kansas City Brigade of the Arena League.

Bauman (6-3, 300 lbs.) makes the jump to the AFL after a solid four-year career with the Omaha Beef of the National Indoor Football League and the Sioux City Bandits of the United Indoor Football League. He went to training camp with the New York Dragons in 2006. Bauman played tight end for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Damien is a 1999 graduate of the University of Nebraska.

"I'm glad they're bringing me in," Bauman said. "I think we're piecing together something that gives us a shot to compete and I'm glad to be a part of it. Next season the AFL is not going with two way players so I will have an opportunity to play mostly nose guard."

Bauman led the Sioux City Bandits in tackles for losses with 14. He ended the season with 4 Quarterback sacks, a forced fumble, and one blocked kick. General Manager/Managing Partner Bob Scott had this to say, "This is what our league is all about giving players like Damien an opportunity to move up and play at a higher level. Bandits Management wishes Damien the best of luck in the future."
