
Force Makes Trip South of the Border For First Time

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Cleveland Force will travel for the first time ever to Monterrey, Mexico to play the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Western Division Monterrey Fury on Sunday, December 14 at Monterrey Arena. The game will mark the second meeting of the season between the teams. The Force lost the first game by a final score of 3-7 on Friday, November 21 in Cleveland.
Cleveland enters the match up with a record of 4-6 overall and 3-2 versus Western Division opponents. The Force fell to the Dallas Sidekicks on Friday night by a final score of 8-2 at Reunion Arena in the first game of a two game weekend slate.
The Fury comes into the week with a record of 3-6 overall, 1-2 versus Eastern Division opponents and 1-1 at home. Monterrey travels to St. Charles, Missouri on Saturday, December 13th to take on the MISL Central Division St. Louis Steamers at the Family Arena.
Forward Lee Edgerton led Cleveland scorers with two points as he tallied two goals in the first meeting. Nick Corneli, Zoran Karic, Ato Leone and Nevio Pizzolitto all added one point in the first meeting with Leone recording the other Force goal.
Monterrey was led by defender Genoni Martinez who recorded two restart goals and added three assists for a game-high five points. Ramon Fernandez and Marco "Chikis" Lopez each netted two goals for two points in the first game.
