
Force Ends Four Game Road Trip With Loss In Overtime At Kansas City, 6-5

KANSAS CITY, MO. - The Cleveland Force traveled to Kansas City, Missouri tonight and was defeated by the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Division Kansas City Comets by a final score of 6-5 in overtime at the Kemper Arena.
With the loss, the Force fell to 1-3 on the four game road trip, 9-21 overall, 4-6 versus Central Division opponents, 2-1 in the season series, 1-4 in overtime games and 4-12 on the road. With the victory, Kansas City improved to 15-17 overall, 4-6 versus Eastern Conference opponents and 9-8 at home.
The Comets opened the scoring (0-1) when Wes Wade scored the restart and short-handed goal off the pass from Dino Delevski at 3:30 of the first quarter. Cleveland tied the game (1-1) when Lee Edgerton found the back of the net througth the legs of Kansas City goalkeeper Sanaldo off the cross from Omid Namazi at 9:44. The Force took their first lead of the game (2-1) when Adauto Neto scored the power play goal off the pass from Braeden Cloutier at 10:47. The Comets tied the game for the second time (2-2) when Delevski scored the goal on the penalty kick and the power play at 12:54.
Kansas City regained the lead (2-3) when Delevski scored his second goal of the game on the restart and power play at 12:20 of the second quarter. The scoreless second quarter marked the ninth time this season that Cleveland was unable to find the back of the net during the period.
The Comets added to their lead and opened the second half scoring (2-4) when Vlatko Andonovski found the back of the net off the second assist of the game for Delevski on the restart at 3:28 of third quarter. Kansas City kept the scoring attack going (2-5) when Delevski picked up the hat trick on his third goal of the game off the assist from Wade at 13:12. The scoreless third quarter marked the eighth time this season that the Force was held scoreless in the period.
Cleveland cut into the lead and ended a 4-0 run by the Comets (3-5) when Neto found the back of the net off the assist from defender Ryan Hall at 3:30 of the fourth quarter. The assist marked the first career MISL assist and point for Hall. The Force cut the lead to one goal (4-5) when Edgerton scored his second goal of the game on the restart off pass from Namazi at 7:05. Cleveland tied the game for the third time (5-5) when Hector Marinaro scored the restart goal off the third assist of the game for Namazi at 8:06.
The Comets won the game in overtime (5-6) when Jamar Beasley found the back of the net for the game-winner at 3:35 of the extra session.
The Force will play their third game in four days when they return home to the friendly confines of the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University on Sunday, March 14 to take on the MISL Western Division leading Dallas Sidekicks.
