Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release
Sioux Falls, SD (September 21, 2005) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce completed the 2005 CBA Draft at Buffalo Wild Wings last night. The âForce selected six players total (see page 2 for pictures), including a trio of players from an Oklahoma State team that played in the Final Four two years ago and advanced to the Sweet 16 last season.
The Skyforce selected Stephen Graham (Oklahoma State) with the seventh pick in the draft. While at OSU, Stephen played along side his twin brother Joey, who was selected by the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the NBA Draft. With the very next pick in the first round, the âForce selected Alfred Neale from the University of New Mexico. Neale is a tremendous athlete who competed as a high jumper at Barton County CC (Kansas) before switching sports. With the 11th pick, the âForce went with All-Big 12 PG John Lucas (Oklahoma State), son of former NBA and CBA player John Lucas, Sr. The âForce used the 15th pick on their third OSU product of the night, Ivan McFarlin. Staying in the Big 12, the âForce selected Keith Langford from the University of Kansas in the fifth round (#39). With their final pick of the night (#48), the âForce went big as they chose Kevinn Pinkney (6'10") from the University of Nevada-Reno. He is known mostly for his shot-blocking ability and rebounding.
Players drafted by the Skyforce will report when training camp opens on Sunday, November 6. The players who report to training camp will compete with other free agents for a spot on the final roster which is cut to ten players on November 16. Each team in the CBA is required to have at least one rookie on the roster and Coach Joerger would love to have one of these players fill that spot.
The Skyforce's season opener is on Saturday, November 19th at home against the Dakota Wizards. Fans are encouraged to attend as the team will celebrate their 2005 CBA Championship. Call the Skyforce office for ticket information at (605) 332-0605.
