Flying Tiger Starting Pitcher Jake Thompson Selected to MLB All-Star Futures Game

Lakeland, FL - Major League Baseball has announced the rosters for the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game. Flying Tigers starting pitcher Jake Thompson was selected to represent the US Team. The 16th annual game will take place at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, on Sunday, July 13 at 5:00 p.m.

Thompson is currently 6-2 with a 2.43 ERA. He has allowed only 53 hits in 66.2 innings pitched with 66 strikeouts. He is currently 8th in the FSL in ERA and has the 5th highest SO/IP ratio at 8.91. Thompson was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the second round of the June 2012 draft from Rockwall-Health High School in Texas where he was a First-Team High School All-American. He is currently ranked as the 3rd best prospect in the Tigers organization by MLB.com.

Major League Baseball, in conjunction with the Major League Baseball Scouting Bureau, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 Major League Clubs, selected the 25-man rosters for each club. Each Major League organization is represented, and players from all full-season Minor Leagues were eligible to participate.
