Flying Aces Run out of Gas against Lumberjacks

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Flying Aces drop their third game of the weekend to the league-leading Muskegon Lumberjacks, 5-1.

Central Illinois got on the board first at 9:48 in the first on the power play. Cal Kiefiuk (Macomb, Mich.) passed from below the goal line to Ryan Siedem (Madison, NJ). Siedem made a cross-slot pass to Jeremy Davidson (Schoolcraft, Mich.) who one-timed the puck into the back of the net from the left circle.

At 11:24 in the first, Colby Bukes shot from the top of the point with the goaltender screened to tie the game for Muskegon.

Thirty-one seconds later, Brock Bremer scored for Muskegon after a net-front scramble.

At 16:42 in the first, Egor Afanasyev scored after receiving a cross-slot pass to make it 3-1 for the Lumberjacks.

Muskegon scored their fourth of the game when Alex Yakovenko tipped a point shot into the goal at 8:26 in the second.

At 14:29 in the third, Yakovenko got his second goal of the game to score Muskegon's fifth goal of the night.

The Flying Aces host Youngstown in a two-game home-stand on Friday, November 16th, and Saturday, November 17th at 7 p.m. Central Illinois is on the road for a Thanksgiving Eve match-up against Green Bay on November 21 before returning home to face projected 2019 NHL draft first overall pick, Jack Hughes, and the Team USA Under-18 Team on November 23.
