BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Central Illinois Flying Aces fall, 5 to 1, to a red-hot Chicago Steel team on a seven game winning streak on Teddy Bear Toss Night.

The Steel went on an early run scoring three first period goals. The first occurred at 9:06 after Chicago won a face-off in their defensive zone and quickly broke the puck out. Gunnarwolfe Fontaine shot the puck hard off the Aces goaltender's right pad and Jake Schmaltz capitalized on the lively rebound. John Spetz scored their second of the night at 13:50 with a quick shot from the left circle after a timely screen diverted the goaltender's vision. Their third goal came after a mad scramble in front of the net and Nick Abruzzese was able to poke the puck into the goal.

The second period started strong for Central Illinois. The Aces put traffic on net and Trevor Janicke (Maple Grove, Minn.) passed out to Chase Foley (Mendota Heights, Minn.) on the point. Foley banked a pass off the boards behind the net to Jeremy Davidson (Schoolcraft, Mich.). Davidson one-timed the puck from the right circle to score just twenty-one seconds in.

With this goal, the teddy bears came flying down. The bears gathered will be donated to Toys for Tots.

Chicago followed the Aces' goal with two of their own. Their fourth of the night came from Mathieu De St. Phalle at 5:48 when he one-timed the puck from the right circle after some quick tic-tac-toe passing on the power play. Christian Sarlo wristed one five-hole for the Steel at 14:40 to make it 5-1.
