Flyers Win Ugly
July 21, 2008 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Orange County Flyers News Release
The Orange County Flyers outlasted and outslugged the St. George RoadRunners 14-11 Monday night at Bruce Hurst Field in Utah to win game one of a four-game series.
Eunchul Choi picked up his first professional win in his debut performance for the Flyers. Choi was one of five pitchers to throw in the game for Orange County.
The Flyers (2-3) were without the services of Pat Breen, who was stricken with food poisoning, but the offense was sparked by some unlikely heroes. Jeff Van Houten, Fernando Pacheco and Josh Arhart keyed the Flyers onslaught as they pounced early and often on five different St. George pitchers.
St. George (4-2) will host the Flyers again Tuesday night at 7:15 mountain time. Charles Merricks expected on the bump for Orange County.
