Edmonton, AB-The Edmonton Cracker-Cats beat the visiting Yuma Scorpions 4-1 in a pitchers dual this evening at TELUS Field.
Cracker-Cats ace, Erik Van Slyke pitched a gem of a game for the âCats. Van Slyke pitched 7 scoreless innings, only giving up the one run in the top of the eighth. In the process, he struck out seven and walked two batters. His record increases to 2-0.
The Scorpions have now lost 5 in a row on their Western Canada road trip.
Beau Hintz got the start for Yuma, he pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 9 hits, and 2 earned runs.
The Cracker-Cats record now goes to 28-24 on the season.
