Orange County Flyers News Release

The first place Reno Silver Sox moved their record to 20-10 after defeating the Flyers 6-3 at Peccole Park in Reno.

Craig Frydendall pitched well for Fullerton despite getting charged with his 4th loss. He gave up just three earned runs and pitched into the 7th inning. The Flyers (12-17) took a quick 1-0 lead on an RBI double from Rich Pohle.

They lost the lead in the 4th inning when C.J. Lang homered to tie at one. After back-to-back singles, Doug Gredvig reached on an error by SS Matt Ferrara. Carlos Madrid bunted in a run to put Reno in front for good.

Marcus Jensen scored on a throwing error by Jacob Wallis in the 6th inning to give the Silver Sox a 3-1 lead.

Wallis got the Flyers within a run on a solo shot in the 7th inning.

Two walks and Ferrara's second throwing error of the game aided Reno's three run rally in the 7th inning.

The Flyers got one back in the 9th inning when Levier doubled in Ferrara. Scott Schneider got one out to record his ninth save of the season.

Chris Marini threw seven solid innings to record the win. Nate Sevier came out of Reno's bullpen for the third night in a row and held the lead.

Game four of the series is Monday night at 6:35. Chris Jakubauskas gets the start for Fullerton.
