
Flyers Acquire Bimbo Carmona

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 14 - The Fort Worth Flyers have acquired guard Alejandro "Bimbo" Carmona, who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2005 NBA Development League Draft by the Flyers but until now had failed to report.
Carmona, 6-4, 200, was in 2005 vet camp with the Detroit Pistons after playing with Mayaguez and Bayamon in the Puerto Rican BSN League from 2001 to 2005. He averaged 14.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists for Bayamon last season. In 2004 for Mayaguez, he averaged 18.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 22 games.
In 2002-03, Carmona played briefly for Valls Felix Hotel in Spain's LEB league, averaging 6.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in seven games. In 2003-04, he played in the Superleague 25 in Puerto Rico for Fajardo and averaged 27.0 points and 8.9 rebounds.
Carmona is expected to be in uniform when the Flyers (25-14) are host to Arkansas (20-19) on Friday.
