GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Greeneville Flyboys split their doubleheader against the Bristol State Liners on Sunday. The Flyboys lost game one 5-3 and won game two 6-4.

The Flyboys (15-20) and State Liners (15-20) played two seven inning games due to the rainout on Saturday, and the two last place teams traded wins on Sunday afternoon.

The State Liners scored first in game one on a sacrifice fly by Jake Cooper. The Flyboys responded with a sacrifice fly from Joel Dragoo in the third inning. Dragoo had two sacrifice flies in the doubleheader, and he now has 33 RBIs this season. That is the second most in the league behind Logan Sutter of the Johnson City Doughboys. Dragoo's 25-game on-base streak was snapped in Game One of the doubleheader.

Nick Strong had a strong game one for Bristol. Strong hit a home run over 430 feet. He also had a two RBI double in the seventh inning to push the State Liners lead to 5-1.

The Flyboys had a chance in the seventh inning in game one. Greeneville loaded the bases with one out and brought the tying run to the plate. After a Tyler Cerny single, Jack Mosh came to the plate representing the winning run. He hit a sacrifice fly to make it 5-3, and Dragoo fouled out to end the game.

Jack Dyke (2-2) pitched all seven innings for Greeneville and took the loss. Matthew Buchanan (1-1) started and got the win for Bristol in game one after pitching six one run innings.

The Flyboys got off to a hot start in game two. Greeneville scored five early runs and chased starter Cade Davis (0-3) out after one inning.

Nick Barone and Tyler Cerny both hit their fourth home runs of the Summer in game two. Barone's went over 420 feet.

The State Liners cut the lead to two in the fifth inning on a Joe Kinneberg RBI groundout. Ethan Davis (1-1) pitched the fifth and sixth innings and got the win. Seth Dudley pitched the seventh inning and got the save (1).

Greeneville has an off day tomorrow. The Pulaski River Turtles will come to Greeneville for a series starting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. A link to watch the game can be found on the Flyboys website.
