Montgomery Biscuits News Release
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Dylan Floro (6-5) tossed his first shutout in double-A in a 1-0 Biscuits (31-32) win over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (27-36) after the Wahoos took game one of a double-header 4-3 Saturday night at Riverwalk.
Floro allowed singles in the second and third innings. Ray Navarro led off the fourth with a single when Floro promptly retired the next nine-straight he faced. After hitting Steve Selsky with one out in the seventh, Floro struck out Travis Mattair and Yorman Rodriguez to end the game. The Wahoos only managed three hits.
Floro was almost matched by Jon Moscot (4-4) who only allowed one hit through the four innings. Jake Hager's chopped, infield single in the first inning was the Biscuits' only hit until Taylor Motter crushed a payoff pitch over the wall in left-center for a solo home run in the fifth. The homer was Motter's first hit since being activated from the disabled list.
The win for the Biscuits snapped a four-game losing streak.
In game one, Jeff Malm ripped a two-run, two-out double off of Robert Stephenson (3-5) in the sixth inning to give the Biscuits a 3-1 lead.
The lead would not last.
Brodie Greene poked a blooper into right field to score the first run of the seventh and make it a one run game. Navarro followed with a bouncer past first to drive in two runs and give the Wahoos a 4-3 lead.
The Biscuits scored their first run with a sacrifice fly from Alejandro Segovia to score Richie Shaffer in the second inning. The Wahoos tied the game with a two-out single from Josh Fellhauer in the fifth.
Game four of the series is Sunday evening 5:35. RH Roberto Gomez will take the hill while RH Mikey O'Brien will throw for Pensacola.
