Floro Awarded Second Weekly Honor

June 9, 2014 - Southern League (SL1)
Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - After only allowing one run in his last two starts, the Southern League announced Monday that Biscuits pitcher, Dylan Floro has won his second Pitcher of the Week award for the games spanning June 2 to June 8. Floro was also selected for the Pitcher of the Week award from the dates of May 19 to 25.

The past week, Floro tossed two of his best outings of the season. On June 2, the right-hander fanned six while holding the Braves to one run through 7.2 innings. He then matched his dominance of the Braves by picking up a seven-inning shutout against the Blue Wahoos on June 7. Pensacola only managed three hits while striking out six times.

Floro is the first pitcher for the Biscuits to be awarded Player of the Week honors twice in the same year since David Price in 2008.

Since the turn of May, Floro has a 2.40 ERA in eight starts. He is the only player for the Biscuits to win the Southern League's weekly award this year.
