
Florida Panthers Re-Sign Knight, Wilson to Two-Way NHL Contracts

Portland, ME - The Florida Panthers, NHL affiliate of the Portland Pirates, today announced the re-signing of forwards Corban Knight and Garrett Wilson to one-year, two-way NHL contracts.
Knight, a 6-foot, 200 pound center from Olive, British Columbia scored 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points in 58 total AHL games last season. The 24 year-old began the season with the AHL's Adirondack Flames, playing 22 games there before he was traded to the Panthers organization. He also played in two games with the Calgary Flames in the NHL last season. After the trade, Knight played 36 games with San Antonio. He also scored a goal in three Calder Cup Playoff games for the Rampage.
Knight began his pro career in 2013-14, playing 70 AHL games with the Abbotsford Heat, where he scored 18 goals and 26 assists for 44 points. He made his NHL debut that season, playing in seven games with Calgary and scoring the only goal of his NHL career so far on March 12, 2014 against the Anaheim Ducks.
Originally drafted by Florida in the Fifth Round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Knight played four seasons of NCAA Division I Men's Hockey for the University of North Dakota.
Wilson, a 6-foot-3, 206 pound left wing from Barrie, Ontario played in 71 games for San Antonio last season, putting up career highs in goals (23) and points (38). The 24 year-old also skated in two games with the Panthers last season. Wilson additionally notched two assists in three Calder Cup Playoff games with San Antonio last season.
Entering his fifth pro season, Wilson has played 179 AHL games, all with San Antonio, five NHL games, all with Florida, and 101 games with the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones.
Wilson was selected in Fourth Round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by Florida. Before turning pro, he played three seasons with the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL.
