Utah Flash News Release

Orem, Utah, Nov. 28, 2007 - Michael Cuffee nailed a three-pointer from the right wing as he was being knocked to the floor with 1.8 seconds left to lift the Utah Flash to a 102-99 NBA Development League victory over the Bakersfield Jam Thursday at the McKay Events Center.

Cuffee then calmly drained the free throw for the final margin as the Flash snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 2-2. The Jam dropped to 0-3.

"Mike (Cuffee) has the ability to make shots." Flash coach Brad Jones said. "He's now proven he can hit big shots late in the game, having done it twice already in our first four games."

The win marks the first home victory in Utah Flash history and came in front of 3,148 fans, including Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan and former coach Frank Layden. Also cheering from their baseline seats were current Jazz players Ronnie Price, Ronnie Brewer, Paul Millsap and C.J. Miles, while Gordan Giracek watched from halfway up the bleachers at midcourt.

The Flash head to the road for back-to-back contests with the Anaheim Arsenal on December 3 and December 5, while the Jam (0-3) finish the last leg of a four game road trip at Idaho tonight.

The Flash had six players in double-digits, including Kevin Kruger and Brandon Wallace who each recorded double-doubles in the contest. Wallace finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds to pick up his second double-double of the season, while Kruger recorded his first of the year with 17 points and 12 assists.

"Brandon (Wallace) has gotten better every game." Jones said. "It's fun to watch him get better because he is a unique player."

Bakersfield was led by Scooter McFadgon, who picked up 24 points off the bench for the Jam. James Peters and Anthony Wilkins contributed 21 and 19 points, respectively.
