Utah Flash News Release
it's finally here: Following almost a year of sales pitches, setting league records for season tickets and sponsorships sold, operations preparation and putting together a roster, the first game in Utah Flash history takes place Saturday in Southern California when coach Brad Jones takes his team to meet the Anaheim Arsenal. The Arsenal finished 23-27, tied with LA for fourth in the Western Division.
on to la: Game 2 is Sunday at the STAPLES Center against the Lakers affiliate, the Los Angeles D-Fenders. The D-Fenders finished 23-27 last year, good for a tie for fourth in the Western Division.
klauke time: Flash fans can catch both road games this weekend live via streaming audio on KFAN.com. Utah broadcasting legend and veteran Steve Klauke is the voice of the Flash.
home opener: Don't miss the party when the Flash plays its inaugural home opener on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Red carpets, paparazzi, flash bulbs, fireworks, the introduction of the Flash mascot, Jazz legend Thurl Bailey singing the national anthem, give-ways and, oh yeah, a pretty good hoops game against the defending league champion Dakota Wizards highlights the evening. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. MT at the McKay Events Center in Orem.
live tv: Tuesday's home opener will be televised live by THE FAN, Utah's Super Sports Network, on KJZZ-TV.
stay tuned: All 24 home games in the Flash's inaugural season are set to be televised on KJZZ-TV or on Comcast ON-DEMAND.
stopping by: There has been no shortage of NBA greats past and present stopping by to take in Flash practices and show their support. Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan took in today's drills and the Godfather of the Jazz, legendary coach Frank Layden, has eased in the practice facility at Pinnacle more than once. Jazz GM Kevin O'Conner, assistant coach Scott Layden, director of scouting Richard Smith and former player Thurl Bailey have all stopped by as well.
pinnacle dancers and budah: If you missed FOX 13 Good Day Utah today you missed an awesome performance by the Flash Pinnacle Dancers. Teaming up with local FOX celebrity Big Budah and the Jazz Dancers, the Flash dancers made a chilly Wednesday morning a little brighter for the Utah viewing audiences.
