Coastal Bend Aviators News Release
ROBSTOWN, TX - The Coastal Bend Aviators announced today that Bob Flanagan has reached an agreement with American Sports Entertainment, the Aviators parent company, to stay on as General Manager. Flanagan had served as the interim General Manager when he took over midway through the 2006 season.
"We think Bob will bring with him the stability we have lacked there in the Coastal Bend" said Tim Marting the Director of Business Development. "Bob was an integral part of the success we experienced in Edinburg with the Roadrunners and we feel confident that he'll have the same impact here with the Aviators."
Flanagan comes to the Aviators with 13 Years of baseball experience under his belt. He started in affiliated ball in Visalia, CA with a farm club of the Oakland A's for four years and has since been to Lubbock, TX and Florence SC, prior to his years with the Roadrunners ball club.
"Having spent 6 years with American Sports Entertainment, I'm happy to keep that relationship going and very excited by the challenges and opportunities that this new job will afford me" says Bob Flanagan. "Since I was with the Aviators for a couple of months at the end of last season, I'm comfortable with the staff and familiar with many of the fans. I hope to use that knowledge and the early start we're getting to make the 2007 season a very successful one."
The Coastal Bend Aviators play in the American Association, a professional minor league of baseball with ball clubs in St. Paul, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, Sioux City, IA, Lincoln, NE, St. Joseph, MO, Shreveport, LA, Pensacola, FL, El Paso and Fort Worth, TX.
