The Flames capped a trip to Texas with a second consecutive win on Sunday night. Kyle Greentree recorded the first Flames hat trick of the season in the 4-2 win over San Antonio. Leland Irving earned his first professional win in the game by stopping 17 Rampage shots.

The Flames jumped out to a 2-0 lead on first period goals by Kyle Greentree and Brett Palin. Greentree scored a transition goal during a Flames power play at 15:00 of the first frame. Carsen Germyn found Jamie Lundmark streaking into the San Antonio zone before Lundmark dished off to Greentree. The power forward went to his backhand to beat San Antonio's Josh Tordjman and give the Flames a 1-0 edge. Palin scored his second goal of the season two minutes later at even strength. The rearguard sent a shot from the top of the right wing circle and into the Rampage net to open up at 2-0 lead.

Greentree struck again on a power play at 11:37 of the middle frame to give Quad City a 3-0 edge. Greentree jammed home a rebound following a Kris Chucko shot. Jamie Lundmark earned the secondary assist on the tally. Greentree's second goal stood up as the only marker of the middle period, and the Flames carried a 3-0 lead into the second intermission.

San Antonio closed the gap with a pair of third period goals. Dylan Reese scored on a point shot at 3:14 of the closing period. Adam Keefe added his first goal of the season 8:40 later after converting on a rebound chance. With the Rampage closing to within a goal, San Antonio coach Greg Ireland pulled his netminder in favor of the sixth attacker. Quad City's Kyle Greentree responded by scoring into the empty net to complete the first Flames hat trick of 2008-09.
