Flames Sign Defensemen Chris Butler and Chad Billins

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenseman Chris Butler to a one year contract and Chad Billins to a one year, two-way entry level deal.

Butler played 44 games with the Flames this season netting one goal and seven assists for eight points along with 19 penalty minutes in his second season in Calgary.

Contract Terms: One-year one-way contract with an Average Annual Value of US $1,700,000 per season.

HOW ACQUIRED: Trade with Buffalo along with Paul Byron in exchange for Robyn Regehr, Ales Kotalik and Calgary's 2nd round pick in 2012 on June 25, 2011.
