
Flames Sign Corban Knight, Greg Nemisz, and Karri Ramo

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed Corban Knight, Greg Nemisz and Karri Ramo.
Knight, a native of High River, Alberta, has just completed his fourth and final season with the University of North Dakota (WCHA) where he was a top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award for the NCAA's top college hockey player. He led the Fighting Sioux in assists (33) and was second in goals (16), points (49) and third in penalty minutes (40). He finished his college career with 52 goals and 94 assists for 146 points along with 145 penalty minutes in 161 games. The Flames acquired Knight from Florida on June 18.
Contract terms: Two-year entry level two-way contract with an NHL base salary of $810,000 with a signing bonus of $90,000 each year and an AHL salary of $67,500 per year. There are "A" and "B" performance bonuses available in each year so the contract carries an Average Annual Value of $3.75million (only if he earns all bonuses).

HOW ACQUIRED: Traded from Florida in exchange for Calgary's fourth pick in the 2013 NHL Draft on June 18, 2013 Nemisz, the Flames first round pick in 2008, played 55 games with the Abbotsford Heat last season scoring three goals and adding seven assists for 10 points and 34 penalty minutes. He has played 15 games for the Flames over two seasons picking up one assist.
Contract terms: One-year two-way contract $725,000 / $85,000 with a guarantee of $110,000
GREG NEMISZ - CENTRE

DRAFTED: CGY - 1st round, 25th overall, in the 2008 Entry Draft
Ramo, originally acquired by the Flames in January of 2012, has spent the last five seasons in the KHL with Omsk Avangard where he is a two-time all-star. He has played 48 games in the NHL with Tampa Bay recording eleven wins between 2006 and 2009.
Contract terms: Two-year contract $2,600,000 / $2,900,000 with an Average Annual Value of $2,750,000

HOW ACQUIRED: Traded from Montreal along with Michael Cammalleri and Montreal's 2012 fifth round pick in exchange for Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland and Calgary's second pick in the 2012 NHL Draft on January 12, 2012.
