Team Notes
- Colt King recorded his 20th season goal on Friday night, a game in which he found the net twice and was the lone goal-scorer for the Flags. It was also the third multiple-goal game of the season for him. Colt is the only active roster member to have 20 goals in a Flags uniform
- Phil Angell tallied his first goal as a professional on Saturday.
- Port Huron needs just 5 more points to clinch a post-season berth. A post-season appearance for the Flags would be the first for a P.H. team since 2004.
- Beating Bloomington at US Cellular Coliseum broke the double-digit marker for the Flags in road victories (10).
- McMorran Arena hosted its largest crowd of the year on Friday night (2,777).
Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Mar. 28 @ Chicago Hounds
Friday, Mar. 30 @ Muskegon Fury
Saturday, Mar. 31 vs. Flint Generals (Home)
Sunday, Apr. 1 vs. Kalamazoo Wings (Home)
Wednesday's game is a make-up from Feb. 25, when inclement weather hampered the Flags' travel plans to Chicago. Port Huron is 1-2-0 against the Hounds and in their last meeting at the Sears Centre. Chicago took a solid victory over the Flags. Colt King and Greg Bullock have led the offensive charge against Chicago, each recording 3 points against the western conference opponent.
In Muskegon on Friday, the Flags may see a preview of the first round of the playoffs, if the current standings hold through the end of the season. Port Huron always plays well against the Fury, although the league-leaders took a shootout victory at McMorran in the last match-up.
Saturday's match features a stand-off between the third and fourth place teams in the East, and is the eleventh and final contest of the I-69 Rivalry. Mark Cadotte has had the most success when playing the Generals, with 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points. The last two matches have gone to shootouts.
Hosting the Kalamazoo Wings on Sunday will be a real challenge for the Flags, who have struggled in this inter-conference series during the season. In the last 5 face-offs, the K-Wings have outscored the Flags, 24-5. Port Huron is 3-8-1 in 12 games played on the season.
