TACOMA, Wash. - Nick Green was 4-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs and Ryan Feierabend retired the last 15 batters he faced as the Tacoma Rainiers defeated the Portland Beavers 8-4 Thursday night at Cheney Stadium.
Feierabend limited the Beavers to three hits over seven innings while striking out nine Portland batters, walking three to gain his sixth win of the year.
Brady Clark was 1-for-4 with an RBI and Brian Myrow, who currently ranks second in the PCL with a .353 batting average, was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Beavers.
The Beavers scored two runs in the top of the first inning after Charlton Jimerson misplayed a single from Royce Huffman, which allowed Craig Stansberry and Myrow to score.
In the bottom of the first, Roger Deago's first pitch of the game was driven out of the park by Green cutting the Portland lead to 2-1.
The Beavers added a run in the top of the second inning when Brady Clark hit a two-out RBI double that scored Mike Epping from second base.
After a Jeff Clement doubled, Epping misplayed a single by Jimerson allowing Clement to score from second base in the bottom of the second.
Back-to-back doubles from Oswaldo Navarro and Green in the bottom of the fifth inning tied the game. The Rainiers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning on a two-run home run from Jimerson. Adrian Burnside came on in relief of Deago and promptly gave up a three-run home run to Green, giving Tacoma an 8-3 lead.
Stansberry singled with two out and Myrow drove in his 70th run of the season with a double to right field to bring the Beavers within four runs in the top of the eighth inning.
Cesar Jimenez set the Beavers down in order in the top of the ninth to seal the victory for the Rainiers.
The Beavers continue their series with Tacoma, Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Cheney Stadium.
