Colon to Make Major League Rehab Assignment Saturday Night for Salt Lake

Bartolo Colon, the ace of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, is set to make a Major League rehab start with the Salt Lake Bees on Saturday, August 25 at Security Service Field. He is scheduled to throw 40 pitches and will be followed by righty Pedro Liriano. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 PM.

Colon, 34, won the American League Cy Young Award in 2005 for the Angels after finishing the season 21-8 with a 3.48 ERA in 33 starts. He is a two-time All-Star and also played for the Dominican Republic in the 2006 World Baseball Classic. In 11 professional seasons, Colon has posted a 140-87 record with a 4.09 ERA while playing for Cleveland (1997-2002), Montreal (2002), Chicago (AL) (2003) and Los Angeles (AL) (2004-2007).
