Arkansas Travelers News Release

Springdale, AR - A five-run sixth hoisted the Northwest Arkansas Naturals to a 5-3 victory over the Arkansas Travelers in game two of the Texas League North Championship series on Thursday night at Arvest Ballpark.

RHP Michael Brady struck out nine and did not allow a hit over the first five innings, but three straight singles to begin the sixth loaded the bases for the Naturals and knocked Brady out of the game.

RHP Eduard Santos (L, 0-1), who was working for a second consecutive night, struggled and allowed all three inherited runners to score in addition to two of his own (one eanred) in 0.2 innings of work.

Arkansas scored a run in the first and two in the sixth on a DH Raywilly Gomez two-out, two-run single down the right field line to take a short-lived 3-0 lead.

RHP Nate Hyatt and RHP Austin Wood combined to toss 2.1 scoreless innings of relief after Santos.

Gomez and CF Chad Hinshaw both finished 2-for-4 for Arkansas.

C Anthony Bemboom and SS Drew Maggi both finished 1-for-3 with a walk.

For Northwest Arkansas, LF Lane Adams and 3B Hunter Dozier both contributed two-run singles in the sixth.

Despite surrendering the two runs in the sixth, LHP Sam Selman (W, 1-0) earned the victory for the Naturals.

With Arkansas down 2-0 in the best-of-five, the series shifts to North Little Rock on Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 at Dickey-Stephens Park.
