Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release

Omaha, NE - In coordination with the United States Hockey League, the Muskegon Lumberjacks are excited for five players, Zach Berzolla, Derek Daschke, Mitch Eliot, Bo Hanson and Rem Pitlick, who will be participating in the fourth annual USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game tonight in Omaha, NE. Muskegon is one of only two teams in the United States Hockey League to have five players selected.

Four of the five Lumberjacks representatives are defensemen, and according to the NHL Central Scouting Service, are all ranked as "C" rated prospects. This ranking projects Berzolla, Daschke, Eliot, and Hanson as a fourth, fifth, or sixth round pick for the upcoming 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The lone forward, Pitlick, is currently leading the United States Hockey League in scoring with 19 goals and 16 assists, for a total of 35 points, in 24 games. Recently, the top scorer represented the United States in the World Junior A Challenge, and helped them earn a bronze medal with two goals and two assists in five games.

The fourth annual USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game will feature 40 of the USHL's top draft-eligible players facing off at Ralston Arena, home of the Omaha Lancers. The players will be split into two teams, Team-East and Team-West. The five Muskegon Lumberjacks will all represent Team-East.

Over the past three years, 46 players named to the top-prospects roster, have gone on to be selected in the NHL entry draft, including three first round draft picks in Kyle Connor, Brock Boeser, and Jordan Schmaltz.
