Five Games, Two Foes

Home Cooking: The Tulsa Oilers begin their longest homestand of the season as an original three game homestand has become a five game homestand, due to two make up games. The Oilers will face only two different teams in the five games, playing the Wichita Thunder and Memphis RiverKings. On Tuesday the Oilers host the Wichita Thunder at 7:05 in a make up date from Dec. 22. Tickets from Dec. 22 will be honored for the game, which is also a QuikTrip Tuesday with ticket vouchers available at area QuikTrip stores. The first 1,500 fans Tuesday also receive a free mouse pad from Cox Communications. The Oilers host Memphis on Friday the 9th at 7:35, and then Wichita again on Saturday the 10th at 7:35 p.m. and Sunday the 11th at 5 p.m in a make up from Jan. 13. Tickets from Jan. 13 will be honored on Sunday Feb. 11. The homestand will conclude Feb. 13 against Memphis.

Workin' OT: The Oilers went into overtime all three games last week and came out victorious all three times. Bill Newson scored the game winner with just 5.5 seconds left in overtime to give the Oilers a 5-4 win over Oklahoma City. The Oilers then took two shootout wins over Austin, 4-3 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday.

Dumba Found: Left winger Jared Dumba earned both shootout game winning goals. He also had the tying goal which forced the overtime against Oklahoma City.

Full Monty: Goaltender Jason Montgomery posted all three wins last week and stopped all seven shootout attempts he faced. On the season, Montgomery has stopped 11 of 12 shootout attempts he faced.
