February 5, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), announced today that Jeff Christian has been named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week for the week of January 29th through February 4th. This is the second time this season that Christian has won the weekly honor.

The captain and assistant coach for the SteelHounds had a week to remember as he had 12 points coming from three goals and nine assists over the three game week. Christian who was named player of the week back in early December and player of the month for December continues to leave the rest of the league behind his dust as he had two assists at Colorado on Wednesday and then tied the league record for most assists in a game with seven on Thursday at the Rocky Mountain Rage. The Canfield, Ohio resident joined Trevor Jobe and Doug Lawrence, both of which had their seven assists in 1996 as the only three men to reach such a high mark for a game.

Saturday night saw the weekend finish on a high note for Christian as he recorded his first hat trick of the year on route to a 3-0 victory over Odessa. For the CHL Player of the Month for December he lengthens his stride as the leagues number one point producer as he leads the league in assists (53), points (79) and +/- (+35). Christian joins teammate Chris Richards and Arizona's Brent Kelly as the only players to be named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week on multiple occasions this season.
