(Portland) - New Hampshire (34-40) handed first-place Portland (44-28) its first home series loss of the season, with a 4-1 victory Sunday afternoon before a sellout crowd of 7,368 at Hadlock Field.

The Fisher Cats took two of three games played in Portland, and now head home after a seven-game roadtrip.

Portland scored its only run in the first off winning pitcher David Purcey (2-0). RF Bryan Pritz doubled, and went to third when the ball was misplayed by RF David Smith. CF Tyler Minges followed with an RBI single to give the Sea Dogs a 1-0 lead.

New Hampshire managed only one hit off Portland starter LHP Frank Brooks, who left after five innings, walking 1 and striking out 6 in his first start since being signed last week.

In the sixth, against reliever Jonathan Searles (3-3), New Hampshire rallied with four runs. 2B Carlo Cota led off with an infield single and stole second. DH Curtis Thigpen walked. LF Adam Lind delivered an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. RF David Smith was hit by a pitch. 1B Chip Cannon drove in two runs with a double, and Smith scored on a sacrifice fly by C John Schneider.
