The Latest Michel Abreu drove in three while Wilson Batista scored three times, helping the Binghamton Mets to a 6-1 win over the Harrisburg Senators in last night's series opener at Commerce Bank Park...Abreu was 2 for 5, getting Binghamton on the board with a run-scoring single in the first before driving in two with a fourth-inning double...Batista, playing for the first time in a week, went 3 for 5, extending his hit streak to 13 games...Tim McNab, getting his second straight spot start, tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out five...the win is Binghamton's 10th in their last 16 games, improving them to 3- 2 on their seven-game road trip, which started in Akron.
About Binghamton Yesterday's win means Binghamton's won seven of their last 10 road contests, a streak that started 6/7. Prior to that, Binghamton was 7-19 away from home...with McNab lasting into the sixth yesterday, B-Mets starters have gone at least five innings in 10 of the last 11 games, the only exception being William Collazo, who lasted 4 2/3 IP Fri. @ AKR...through the first five games of the road trip, Binghamton's hitting .300 (54 for 180) with 24 runs scored...yesterday, reliever Eddie Camacho was charged with an earned run, as the B-Mets' bullpen's allowed 6 ER in their last three games after yielding just 3 ER over a seven-game stretch.
About Harrisburg The Senators are coming off a four-game series split with Altoona at Commerce Bank Park...they've won 13 of their last 19 games, a stretch that began when they took two of three at Binghamton 6/2-4...while Harrisburg is third in the league in hitting (.260), their 4.13 ERA is the EL's worst... the Senators are managed by John Stearns, who skippered the B-Mets in 2003. Stearns made several trips to NYSEG Stadium last season, when he served as the NY Mets' Catching Coordinator.

Rundles, last seen with AA Springfield, pitched for Harrisburg in 2004 and 2005...yesterday, Kevin Rios got his fourth straight start, going 9 for 16 over the four games. Prior to the Akron series, Kevin hadn't played in 10 days...yesterday, Wilson Batista extended his hit streak to 13 games, a B-Mets season high. Batista, who has a hit in every game he's played in June, is hitting .351 (20 for 57) during the streak. The last B-Met with a double-digit hit streak was Mike Jacobs, who hit safely in 22 consecutive games 7/31-8/17/2005. Jacobs' streak ended when he was called up to the NY Mets.
